Fantasy Football: New Waiver Wire Pickups

Week 1 is over and there are plenty of new fantasy football waiver wire pickups to make.

Here is a list of the new waiver players that people should jump all over to set themselves up for next week in a long and competitive season.

Pickup 1: Brandon Jackson

With Ryan Grant now out for the Packers, Jackson should become very valuable as a feature back in his stead.
Pick him up now as competition for him will be fierce.

Pickup 2: Legadu Naanee

Malcom Floyd will be the deep man and Naanee likely the safety valve among the WR's for Philip Rivers. Not a superstar here but a decent waiver pickup nonetheless.

Pickup 3: Mercedes Lewis

Lots of TE's emerge at different times and Lewis was a bit overlooked early on this season. But he is a great athlete and seems like a top target of David Garrard's making him worth a look.

It was a fairly quiet week for new stars but these and other guys like RB Peyton Hillis of the Browns and QB Vince Young of the Titans are among those who had surprisingly productive first weeks.
