Fantasy Football Week 1 Quarterback (QB) Rankings

Which QBs Should You Pick for Your Fantasy Team in Week 1?

Forrest W. Kobayashi
Are you wondering who you should start at quarterback for your fantasy football team in Week 1? Here are the quarterbacks you should consider starting in your Week 1 game. Picking the right quarterback is essential for success in fantasy football, so here are my Week 1 rankings.

Quarterback Rankings

1. Tom Brady (NE vs KC).
Remember what Brady did to his opponents last year? He gets a cakewalk matchup and the top fantasy quarterback ranking of the week. Though he has not participated in any preseason games this year, he should deliver nice value throwing to Moss and Co.

2. Tony Romo (DAL at CLE).
Another spectacular matchup for the second best fantasy quarterback in the game, Romo should also be in for a field day on Sunday. Owens and Witten are his two main targets: watch to see if a reliable third option opens up. Patrick Crayton could be that guy.

3. Peyton Manning (IND vs CHI).
Call me crazy, but I have to go with Manning here against a tough Chicago defense. He will undoubtedly have some tough matchups this season, and this could end up being one of them. However, you drafted him in fantasy for a reason: to deliver some big time stats. Never bench your best players in week 1: Manning will have a big day nonetheless.

4. Ben Roethlisberger (PIT vs HOU).
Pittsburgh has the toughest schedule in the league this season, and Houston is no longer the cakewalk it used to be. Thankfully for him, he will have the offense in place to dismantle anything Houston may throw his way. Look for lots of targets for WR Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward.

5. Donovan McNabb (PHI vs STL).
Get all of those McNabb starts in before he (inevitably) gets injured again! All jokes aside, he should have a good day against a really bad STL secondary. McNabb doesn't have a lot in the way of receivers, but he could easily be the top quarterback on Sunday.

6. Carson Palmer (CIN at BAL).
After railing on Ohio State, Palmer looks to go out and have a good day in Baltimore this Sunday. And he will...the Baltimore defense is not nearly as scary as it was a few years back, and he certainly has the skills to dominate. Look for targets to Ocho Cinco!

7. Kurt Warner (ARI at SF).
Quick, can you name the worst team in the NFL? Sure, the Dolphins were bad, but the 49ers could be worse. Warner is going to light up this poor secondary on Sunday, and it won't be funny. Look for three or four scores to Fitzgerald and Boldin. Man, this is going to be big.

8. Jay Cutler (DEN at OAK)
9. Matt Hasselbeck (SEA at BUF)
10. Derek Anderson (CLE at DAL)
11. Jason Campbell (WAS at NYG)
12. Eli Manning (NYG vs WAS)
13. Jon Kitna (DET at ATL)
14. Brett Favre (NYJ at MIA)
15. Drew Brees (NO at TB)
