When an American traveler goes to Mexico, there are many Spanish words and phrases they should memorize to be able to communicate wants and needs efficiently. It is wise to know enough Spanish so that you can socialize with the locals and get a cultural experience from your vacation. Mexico becomes a more memorable experience if you are able to speak Spanish phrases, with the people who are residents. Most people will be glad to help if a foreigner is having a hard time communicating, but there are a few that travelers run across, that become frustrated with visitors who don't speak the Spanish language.

These words will give an American traveler a starting point, but building a vocabulary of many Spanish phrases, will allow a traveler to communicate sufficiently. Most people are not fluent in speaking Spanish, when they visit, but can understand the spoken word better. Understanding the spoken Spanish language, is accomplished well by listening to or watching shows in Spanish. This allows someone to understand the overall theme of the conversation, and increases listening skills, correct pronunciation and memorization of Spanish phrases.

How Do I say Hello and Goodbye in Spanish?

"Hello" or "Hola," in Spanish is the one word you will use right away in Mexico. "Good bye" or "Adiós" in Spanish is the last word you will use in every encounter with someone conversing with you in Mexico.
