Far Away
From me you were
I prayed that you were safe.
Each day I awaited your call.
The day you returned to me unscathed,
I thought it would all be O.K.
I couldn't have fathomed
That you'd still be
Far Away
From me you were
I prayed that you were safe.
Each day I awaited your call.
The day you returned to me unscathed,
I thought it would all be O.K.
I couldn't have fathomed
That you'd still be
Far Away

Post a CommentWonderful poem, written very well. But it hits close to home take a look at my page and you'll see... read snuffed out, Noah Pierce the others are just my therapy as well... Be careful though if this is someone close to you, if you read my story you'll see why
Thank you jcorn, Joy and Barbara. Rictameter poems follow a prescribed syllabic structure, hence the length. Many years ago I learned to use poetry as therapy to get things out of my head. One of my cures for writers block is actually to write more structured styles of poetry- I like the challenge....
Welcome to AC and thank you for writing such a beautiful poem. I related to it very strongly for far different reasons than what appears to be the focus of the poem. The photo is haunting, too.
Very profound. I like that it is short. It strengthens the punch. Excellent. Welcome to AC.
