The uses for a Faraday Flashlight are endless. Get a couple of them and keep one in the kitchen, one in the bedroom. If the lights go out, you don't have to grab a flashlight that you forgot to put batteries in, and then stumble around to find some. Have you ever tried to put batteries in a flashlight in the dark? You can do it but it is not easy.
I found the Faraday Flashlight at Walgreens for $19.95. (Walgreens has a great section with stuff they advertise on TV) I tried it out in the store, and I noticed I got a nice, bright bluish light. (The light is LED) That is another great feature of the Faraday Flashlight. There are no bulbs to replace either.
I picked up two Faraday Flashlights for starters. I keep on in my glove box in the car, and the other on the mantle in the living room.
I was out one night after dark, and got a flat tire. Naturally it was in the middle of nowhere, and there were no street lights. I remembered the Faraday Flashlight and shook it for about thirty seconds. I turned it on and I got the bright light I remembered from the store. I found a place to prop the light and went about changing the tire. The light only lasts about five minutes, but at least you won't have the light go out permanently and not have any batteries to put in the dead light.
Actually when the Faraday Flashlight begins to fade a bit, that tells you that you should shake it again.
I like having a flashlight like the Faraday Flashlight that I don't have to worry about after leaving it sit for a long period of time. If you leave a standard battery operated flashlight in a drawer for months at a time, batteries can leak acid. My mother was injured when she picked up a flashlight many years ago. Somehow a drop of the battery acid splashed into one of her eyes. Fortunately she was not seriously injured, but with the Faraday Flashlight this will not happen to anyone.
Remembering this incident, I got a couple of Faraday Flashlight for my parents too. This is a product that I thought would not really work as well as it does. It is nice to find that there is occasionally truth in advertising.
