Helplessly I watched you die
Your sad expression seeming to say, "Don't cry."
You were the best friend I've ever had
And, your passing makes me feel so sad.
But, your big brown eyes looked at me
And, said, "This is the way it's meant to be."
All living things must come to an end,
And return to earth or cleansing fire
Where they began. To replenish the
Earth. That is my destiny, so do not
Cry for me, just say farewell, my friend.
