As summer closes its tired eyes
And prepares for the long rest
We tuck away sunny memories
And prepare for winter's quest!
Our summer was tumultous
We were cursed by hurricane Irene
She left so many flooded
Worst that generations have seen!
So many had the horror of drought
Days on end praying for rain
Those who depend upon their crops
Still suffer from the pain!
But others enjoyed the heat
Choosing to stay in the sun
In sand and surf they frolicked
Until the day was done!
But life comes in cycles
And summer will return
When fall and winter rear their heads
And then finally adjourn!

Post a CommentHey, Jersey, how ya doing? Yes, summer's over, I am so happy, just wish this present humidity would go away! When we were upstate last week, it was 35-40 degrees some nights and mornings and only 60-75 degrees during the day, with NO humidity! It was glorious.
Love it but I'm ready for fall.
OMG, I hate to see summer go!
Our summer was actually not too bad this year, but I'm still glad that autumn has arrived. Wonderful work, as always. Thanks!
