Farm Aid started in 1985 and continues to go strong year after year and it's for a great cause. Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp created farm Aid in 1985 to raise awareness about loss of family farms and to raise money to keep farmers and their families on their land. Farm Aid consists of country music singers performing to raise money for farmers.
How Does Farm Aid Help Farmers
Farmers are referred to over 460 farm organizations across the United States by Farm Aid staff. Referrals given to farmers support transitions. Therefore, they can make sustainable and profitable situations for farming practices. If a crisis occurs and farmers are in need, they have the support they need.

Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp will talk about the last twenty-five years of Farm Aid. During Farm Aid 2010 board members will discuss music and how taking action helped farmers throughout the US. It takes total commitment by everyone involved and Farm Aid has proved their commitment has helped farmers thrive.
