Farm Town Guide for Earning Coins, Money, and Experience Points

Jenny Fick
Farm Town is an application on Facebook where you, the farmer, can build your own farm. It's similar in play strategy to the Sims and is just about equally, if not more, addicting. The basic premise and game play is to earn coins, money, and experience points in order to build and grow your farm. In this how to, I will list several methods and tips for earning coins, money, and experience points.

How to Get Farm Town Coins and Money

When you first begin the game, you earn 500 coins for creating your identity.

Each day that you log into the game, you're entered into the Daily Lottery. I've earned anywhere from 20 coins to upwards of 200 coins.

The easiest and most straightforward method of earning coins is to sell your harvests. This is one of your main avenues in earning coins.

Don't let your crops go to waste. Harvest them when they're ready. Wasted crops are wasted coins.

Utilize the "Let me know when my crops are ready," button to avoid wasting your crops. Farm Town will send you an email when your crops are ready.

Plant some quick crops. Grapes cost only 20 coins, earn you 56 coins, and are ready to harvest in four hours. If you're diligent (and don't sleep), you could harvest about 6 crops of grapes each day. Depending on the number of grape plants you plant, you could bring in quite a number of coins.

-Work at someone's farm. Periodically, a pop-up will appear on your screen from one of your neighbors requesting some of your help on their farm in exchange for coins. On that same thread of thought, gather as many neighbors as you can. The more neighbors you have, the bigger chance that someone will need your help, and don't forget to return the favor!

This last tip slightly borders on cheating and is one of the only ways to earn Farm Town money. At the top of the screen is the, "Earn coins," button. Pressing this will take you to a screen where you can purchase Farm Town coins and money with your own money. The prices are pretty reasonable: five bucks will get you 7,500 coins or $25 in Farm Town money. Scrolling down, there are more opportunities to earn coins and money by completing offers. These offers range from free options, like adding certain Facebook applications to your profile and getting free insurance quotes, to options that do cost you money, like signing up for online services or free trials. You can also access this option on your map by clicking on the, "Bank," button.

How to Earn Farm Town Experience Points

Build certain building on your farm that earn you big experience point values, such as building the Big Barn (751 experience points) or the Fun Treehouse (601 experience points).

Planting trees, flowers, and seeds earn you experience points, as well.

Add decorations to your farm, such as a Flowerwagon (362 experience points) or a Flag (452 experience points).

Grow topiary! Placing one Cube Hedge will cost you $1 of Farm Town money and will get you 33 experience points. This appears to be the cheapest and easiest method of earning experience points in a short amount of time.

Help out at someone's farm. You will get six experience points for each farm you tend.

Plowing a field earns you one experience point while planting that plowed field will get you two experience points.

You can earn trophies on Farm Town for all sorts of things from gathering neighbors and visiting farms to spending coins. When you earn a trophy, you also earn 25 experience points.

Happy farming!
