Farmers Markets Around Albuquerque, New Mexico

Each season has their own great selection of fruits and veggies to choose from. If you head on over to a farmers or growers market in Albuquerque, New Mexico, you're bound to find lots of roasted green chile available for purchase. In addition to the locally grown foods available, there are also yummy lotions and soaps made from New Mexican herbs. Treat your family to some organic produce that is beneficial for their health and can help them connect both with their community and the land.

Nob Hill Growers' Market:

Every Thursday, the Nob Hill area of Albuquerque has their weekly Grower's Market. I personally love to go there for the yummy samples of bread, honey, tomatoes, apples, jam and other organic, homegrown goodies. It helps me decide what treat I want to purchase that day. My favorite has been the jars of local honey for $6-7 for the smaller jars. They have a selection to choose from, all varying from different areas around the city where bees hang out, such as the Sandia Mountains. If you purchase vegetables or fruits in season they are pretty tasty as well. My family loves buying a barrel of apples during autumn or a bag of fresh New Mexican roasted green chile in various seasons. You can find the market available from May to November, every Thursday from 3-6:30.

Corrales Growers' Market:

Although Corrales is not exactly in Albuquerque, it is literally at the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho border. It's a beautiful little farmer town located just north of the Alameda street. One minute you are in Albuquerque, then take a turn on Corrales Rd and head north to Jones rd and you're at the Corrales Growers' Market. They are open every first Sunday of the month from 10am-1pm.

What I like about the Corrales Growers' Market is that they have more vendors than the Nob Hill Growers' market. I am now a big fan of the raspberry jam available there. And it's not just available at one booth, but several! Some even have delicious New Mexican chile in the jam. You can find nearly everything there from bread to delicious white carrots, to honey sticks, fruit leather, yellow tomatoes and so much more. The Corraless Growers' Market also accepts WIC vendor checks. To check out their events and find directions, check out their link:
