Farmers markets are great for finding affordable clean food. Most smaller farmers markets focus on providing a venue for small family owned local farms to sell their products. These markets are great for consumers that are concerned with the quality of the food they buy. When visiting a farmers market you can ask the farmer how the produce has been grown or how their livestock is treated. Most local farmers are more than happy to share their clean farming techniques and policies.

Riverside residents are fortunate to have several great farmers markets to choose from. All of which focus on organic, locally grown products.

The best known farmers market in Riverside can be found along Arlington Avenue. Every Friday from 8 in the morning to noon the Riverside Certified Farmers Market is open year round. The market specializes in 'mom and pop'' farms that produce organic produce, raw organic honey, and locally grown specialty products like peanuts and heirloom tomatoes. The market also offers fresh baked breads and many different crafts from local artists. ou can also get fresh cut flowers and home made soaps among other things.

If Fridays are not a good day for your organic food shopping needs, there is an alternative farmers market in downtown Riverside. Every Saturday from 8 to 1 the pedestrian Mall on Central street is transformed into a lively farmers market. The downtown farmers market has a wider variety of products and is visited by bigger more etsablished companies. In addition to organic vegetables the farmers market also sells fish, home made olive oils, soaps, flowers and fresh bread.

As an alternative, every Saturday sees a growing Farmers Market in Corona, just outside Riverside. The Corona Certified Farmers Market is open every Saturday between 8:30 and 12:30. With over 20 different sellers the market has a great variety of in season fruits and vegetables. The Corona Farmers Market also have several food vendors where you can buy a healthy lunch, home made snacks, or even organic dinners. The Corona Farmers market is held in the Main Street Marketplace just North of the 91 freeway.

Farmers markets are a great way to get high quality food while supporting local farms. Interest in locally grown food is increasing throughout the country and in the Inland Empire. The growing demand for affordable clean foods are reflected in more and more sellers bringing their products to the various Riverside farmers markets.
