Farmers Markets in Woodland Hills, California

Not only do farmers markets offer foods that are fresher than your local grocery store, buying at a farmers market supports local farmers and the local economy. Plus, farmers are often on hand selling their products, so you can find out from the source what kind of pesticides and fertilizers they use in their growing. This can be extremely beneficial for anyone who has had bad reactions to chemicals used for growing. You don't have to drive into LA to get fresh fruits, vegetables, and homemade products from a farmers market. If you live over the hill in L.A. County, there are a couple of great local farmers markets right in Woodland Hills, California.

The Farmers Market at Kaiser Permanente has the usual supply of fresh fruits and vegetables, with some organic selections. You can find strawberries, apples, raspberries, oranges, asparagus, corn on the cob, and much more. Prices are usually less than you can buy the same items for at the grocery store and items are fresh picked. The Farmers Market at Kaiser Permanente is held in the plaza between entrances 4 & 5 on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm all year long. Kaiser Permanente is located at 5601 De Soto Avenue, Woodland Hills, California.

The Kaiser Permanente Market is not the only place to go green in Woodland Hills though. The H.V.P. Certified Farmers Market also offers a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables at prices lower than the local grocery store. This local farmers market has potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, berries, melons, oranges, and so much more. The H.V.P. Certified Farmers Market takes place at the corner of Shoup Avenue and Collins Street in Woodland Hills on Saturdays between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

If you can't make it to the farmers market on Thursday or Saturday mornings, you can still find fresh produce in Woodland Hills. Pierce College has a farm market that is open daily and sells fresh produce from their on-site gardens. There is a limited selection and items sometimes sell out, but if you get there early, you might be able to find just what you need. The Pierce College farm market is at the corner of Victory Boulevard and De Soto in Woodland Hills.
