If you have items that you don't want to store in your Farmville barn or shed, you can always sell them for Farmville coins.

You can expand your chicken coop the same way you expand your storage. You will need to get 10 friends to help within 3 days. Expandig your Farmville chicken coop lets you house more chickens in the coop. This gives you a better chance of finding mystery eggs each day and you can make more money from collecting the eggs produced by your chickens because you have more of them.

According to the current screen that pops up when you want to expand your storage on Farmville, you will eventually be able to have a barn raising that will allow you to expand your horse stable, dairy farm, and your garden shed.
