FarmVille on Facebook

Bandit
FarmVille is a fun farm simulation game on the social networking website Facebook and was created in June 2009 and as of October 2009, FarmVille is the most popular website based game application.

Facebook members manage a virtual farm by planting, growing and harvesting virtual crops such as soybeans, wheat, squash, pumpkins and sweet potatoes. Plant and harvest an abundance of fruit trees such as lemon, apple, avacodo and lime. There is even a variety of livestock to "feed" and harvest the rewards. Just to name of few, there are cows who give milk, pink cows give strawberry milk, chickens give eggs, ducks give down feathers and sheep give wool.

To begin creating your "farm", players must first create thier avatar and begin accumulating crops to grow & harvest.

Farmville is all about a Market, where farmers can purchase items that they will need to create their farm. There are seeds, trees, animals, buildings, decorations, vehicles, and even bigger land which is all purchased by using "coins," which is the term used for the generic "free" money in Farmville. Coins are earned by selling crops and "Cash" must be purchased through Zynga but the higher level that is achieved as you learn more about the game, this earns players a little "cash" money.

The seeds that a farmer plants will grow and then theses crops can be harvested to earn coins and the trees and animals that are purchased by each farmer can also be harvested and turned into a profit for that farmer. Each farm can contain up to 144 plots of land but many farmers will likely use most of their plot/plots of land to "plant" trees, place their livestock, farm buildings, decorations, farm implement tools and vehicles.

Lost Animals:

Sometimes animals will roam onto someone else's farm and other farmers have the option to "adopt" the lost animal or they can just ignore it. A reward is given to the user who originally posted the lost animal sign. The roaming animals are which can be adopted to use on your farm are: Brown Cow that produces chocolate milk.Pink Cow that produces strawberry milk. Black Sheep that produces black wool. An Ugly Duckling that turns into a swan after three days and afterwards you can collect swan feathers.Turtles lay eggs after three days.

Animals to Purchase For Your Farm:

Chickens, duck, sheep, goats, elephants, pigs and and horses.

Ribbons:

Players will also be able to receive ribbons (white, yellow, red, and blue) for their efforts in the game and each color represents different achievements done by the individual farmer.

Decorations:

Decorations for your farm are often small in size but they can be moved around and placed where you want. You can buy barrels, bicycles, butter churns, fences, ponds, mailbox, picnic table and even a covered wagon.

Trees:

There are mnay types of trees that you can either buy or receive as gifts from neighbors. There's apple, cherry, lemon, orange, plum and peach to choose from.

Flags:

FarmVille allows the user to buy a flag and place on their "plot" of land representing their heritage. On October 13, FarmVille added the Indian, Filipino, and Portuguese flags to the game.

Vehicles:

There is a red tractor, pink tractor, harvester and seeder.

Thanks Bandit for the 411 on Farmville. I mainly use FB to promote my writing, and usually don't get involved in the other stuff. I had no idea what Farmville was all about.
