Farmville on Facebook: Item Size Guide - How Much Space Does Each Item Need?
Design Your Farm Effectively! Bookmark This Guide for Future Reference
A quick note before getting into the details...
1x1 is the smallest square a Farmville item can occupy. For example, all trees occupy a 1x1 space. Crops actually occupy a 4x4 space, not a 1x1 space. For example, in the space a crop grows, four trees can fit in its space.
Any item that comes in multiple colors or varieties (Sheep, Hay Bales, Outhouses, etc) takes up the same amount of space. These items are listed once to make the list a little shorter.
