Farouk Chi Silk Infusion Hair Serum Review

I had read about the importance of minimizing the amount of heat that you apply to your hair to avoid breakage for years, but I hadn't been able to find a product that helps to protect your hair during heat styling. That is, until I came upon Chi Silk Infusion Hair Serum by Farouk.This is a special hair serum that you are supposed to use in concert with the Chi flat iron or a similar high quality ceramic flat iron brand.

I commonly use a flat iron to make my hair straighter and give it added "bounce." So I finally decided to give the Chi Silk Infusion Hair Serum a try a few months ago. After washing my hair I put a small amount, the size of a dime, in the palm of my hand and then worked it in while still wet. (I have also read that you can put it on your hair while dry, right before flat ironing, but I haven't tried this method yet.) Then I dried my hair (usually by air or blow dryer). Next, I sectioned off my hair (hey, you have to take your time and do your hair right) and finally started flat ironing.

First Pass

Now in the past whenever I flat ironed my hair it just didn't seem to hold the heat properly. Even after finishing, my hair still didn't look its best-it looked a little dry and lifeless. So I was eager to see the results of using the Chi Silk Infusion Hair Serum on my hair for the first time.

On the very first pass of my flat iron (I don't use the Chi brand-just another high quality, ceramic flat iron model) I started to realize that this stuff is pretty amazing. My first lock of hair was almost glimmering it was so shiny. I ran my fingers through and it was soft and fluffy-just how I like it.

The Results?

When I finished flat ironing my entire head of hair I was amazed with the results. I don't think my hair had ever felt so soft and luscious after a wash and dry. It was shining and looking as healthy as it does when I leave the salon. Since that very first time using the Chi Silk Infusion hair serum, my ends have become stronger and more resilient, even after flat ironing. I also get compliments all the time about how shiny and healthy my hair looks.

My Verdict

So as you can predict, I am extremely satisfied with the quality of Farouk's Chi Silk Infusion Hair Serum. Since I only need a small bit after each wash it has lasted me for months now. I cannot proceed with my hair care regimen unless I have my Chi serum on hand-if I'm going away that little gray bottle goes right with me! For just 8 bucks, it's not a bad deal. I definitely recommend this Chi serum if you are looking for a product that will protect your hair during heat styling and also give you hair a lasting shine between washes.
