Farting in a Sports Club Leads to Ban

Cloudage
These days people have to be careful not farting when they go out to their favorite pubs or bars. I heard of this funny story in BBC news, and the whole story is actually quite amusing. Probably not for the person it concerns, but I feel that it's worth telling people about it.

Maurice Fox is a 77-year-old former bus driver, and the whole thing started at Mr. Fox's regular club, the Kirkham Street Sports and Social Club in Devon, England. Fox is a regular there, and used to go there twice a week. This was before he received a letter from the club, quoting:

""After several complaints regarding your continual breaking of wind (farting) while in the club, would you please consider that your actions are considered disgusting to fellow members and visitors."

Mr. Fox admits to having problems with farting, but says that although the noise is loud sometimes it does not stink. He also tries to go outside when he feels wind coming on, but sometimes it comes too sudden on him so he doesn't have enough time.

Now he might have to find himself another social club, as the club banned him because of his actions i.e. his farting.

I can understand why the club banned him, as it wouldn't be a very pleasant experience going somewhere where a person was letting out loud air all the time. However, they never notified him that this was causing a problem before the letter popped up in his mailbox.

Mr. Fox is apparently happy to follow the ban, because as he says it himself:

""I am happy to oblige them, there is no problem. I do get a bit windy - I am an old fart now."

I wonder about the legal side of this, because I have never before heard that farting is a reason for banning someone from an establishment. Maybe there will be no farting signs all over in a few years, because if you're not breaking any laws or rules; can they ban you for no apparent reason?

How would that feel on a person; I don't know if Mr. Fox had any medical problems to cause him to have excessive amounts of gas, but it must be extremely humiliating. It's a good thing that he takes it all with good humor, and won't create any problems about the ban.

Read the whole story here, and please give me your comments on what you think of the ban caused by farting.

Is "Thou shalt not fart" going to be the 11th commandment? I am rolling on the floor hysterically laughing at your article!
