Abercrombie and Fitch
When you get near an Abercrombie and Fitch store, you'll know where you are. This is because of their loud music and great smelling cologne which they spray on their clothes in an attempt to lure customers into buying more. It also makes them aware that the store sells colognes and perfumes. Not to mention, this store smells so great that I love going in it just cause of the scent. Don't act like I'm the only one, I'm sure you've been caught doing the same thing before as well. The loud remixes of dance songs have almost become a signature for Abercrombie and Fitch. This was another smart move by A&F since loud music is a good way to attract high school and college aged people. Abercrombie and Fitch is actually directed at college aged people from 18-22, however, much of their business comes from the high school teens. There is then the store titled Abercrombie, but without the Fitch on the end, which is directed at a younger age group. Abercrombie and Fitch is a pretty expensive place, but for a polo that lasts you a lifetime, you end up getting your $59.50 worth. Some people might say that those who shop here are only there for the brand name, but for many shoppers it is about the latest styles and the comfort and quality of the clothes which keeps them coming back. Don't get me wrong, being such a popular brand they definitely have the upper hand, but for many of their shoppers it goes beyond just a brand name.
Hollister Co
Hollister is much like Abercrombie and Fitch, logically because they are owned by the same company. They play loud music in their store, they spray their clothes with a great smelling cologne, and run their store in much the same way that Abercrombie and Fitch does. However, they are directed toward both at a younger age group and a different style. Hollister is directed more toward high school aged kids and their style is a surfer style. Hollister, which is a city in California, is where this store got it's name. Many of the Hollister stores upon entering, you can see a live shot of Huntington Beach on a big screen near the registers. Another big difference between Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch is that Hollister is considerably less expensive. While you might find a hooded sweatshirt at Abercrombie for $79.50, you'll find sweatshirts very similar at Hollister for nearly half that price. Prices on everything in Hollister compared to Abercrombie and Fitch are about half, with few exceptions.
This company is obviously doing something right. If you are looking for quality clothes, Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister Co are two great places to find exactly what you're looking for. They keep up with the latest trends and even end up making some of their own trends. It's no wonder that when walking down a high school hall you are sure to see a majority of the students wearing one of these two fashionable brands.
