Fashion Trends for Women in Fall 2009

With the much mourned passing of the Kind of Pop, all things MJ have become cool again. While I don't suggest you don high waters, glitter socks, and loafers, I love the BB Dakota, Michael Jackson inspired Battalion Jacket in Black. The mandarin collar and pleats make it my top pick for fall. The Battalion Jacket is available at www.chickdowntown.com for a totally affordable $79.00.

If it would not have been for the untimely passing of Jackson, Twilight inspired clothing would own the fashion spotlight. A close second in my book is also from BB Dakota. The Twilight Jacket in Forest ($63.00, at www.chickdowntown.com) seizes both the fall Twilight and the earth tone trends.

Even though the color black is never totally out, this fall welcomes the return of the slimming little black dress. This year, the Donna Morgan Sleeveless Dress is the most awesome LBD pick for fall. This matte jersey figure flatterer is available at www.dillards.com for a budget friendly $99.00. While on the site, check out their entire selection of little black dresses, it is huge, and I want them all.

There is not much new in the world of shoes. The twist comes with the opaque tights and leggings paired with squared toes and heels. To keep this fall 2009 look fresh, leave the funky patterned leggings in the drawer. Instead, visit www.hue.com, shell out the twenty bucks for two pairs of the Super Opaque CT tights and pair it with your choice of footwear. I love them with the ankle boots.

Hide your baggy jeans. Think more 80's inspired rocker jeans without the mom jean waistline. If you just want to update the skinny jeans you already own, rip them, bleach them, fray them, and then wear them. Such celebs as Lindsey Lohan, Rihanna, and Paris Hylton are already sporting this trend. If you need some inspiration, or how to advice, ask mom (what, you think our jeans came that way?), or save face and visit www.fashionising.com . You can also take a cue from Cameron Diaz and visit www.7forallmankind.com for their line of distressed denim.
