Fashion Wars - the New MySpace Application Game

The new MySpace application game, Fashion Wars, is a fun break from the popular testosterone-driven mob games, such as Mafia Wars and Mobsters. In Fashion Wars, would-be MySpace fashionistas can buy designer hand bags, shoes, dresses, expensive cars and other luxury items, all of which are a welcome break from the Uzis and brass knuckles found in other games.

It's harder to build a strong posse in Fashion Wars, mostly because few men are interested in games that offer mani-pedis and smack-downs. You have to dig a little deeper to find people who are interested, but like most other MySpace application games, a large family is the quickest way to build wealth. Without tons of money to buy property with, it will be hard to go very far in this game.

Unfortunately, there are no known cheats in Fashion Wars at this time, other than making your own macros, but here are a few ways you can quickly grow your posse.

One way to gather new friends is to join one of the many MySpace groups formed specifically to bring fans of Fashion Wars together. One of the biggest groups is not easily found by using the search function. The other night, I happened to stumble upon Fashion Wars App Adds at http://groups.myspace.com/288290310. You can join instantly, add your profile's URL info into one of the group's threads, click on "view all members" and start adding people on your own.

As of the publication date of this article, Fashion Wars App Adds has 804 members, and have all but doubled their member count over the past couple days.

Another way to add to your Fashion Wars posse, is by going to the "Top Fashionistas" section, click on the top users for each section, and post your MySpace profile's URL in the comments box. This function was recently implemented. Originally you couldn't click on their names, but regardless, the comment box has only been up and running for the past couple weeks.

One last way to add new members is to put your MySpace profile's URL in the comment section beneath this article, and you will see new friend requests in no time.

No matter which method you choose to use, make sure your MySpace account is set up to accept messages from applications and make sure your account doesn't require an E-mail address or a last name for incoming friend requests, as many users are put off by this, even if you provide the info ahead of time.

When sending friend requests to others, be sure to leave a quick note letting the recipient know you are looking for more Fashion Wars friends, otherwise your requests might go ignored.
