Fashionable, Yet Modest Clothing Now Available for Teens and Young Women

Several Women Have Started Companies to Offer Fashionable Clothing for Women Who Don't Want to Show Their Belly Button

The reaction to the current trend of revealing clothing started slowly 1999, when Pure Fashion USA had its first fashion show. According to the May 20th, 2007 edition of Our Sunday Visitor, it was organized by a group of mothers dissatisfied with clothing marketed to their daughters. This was only the beginning. Shade Clothing (www.shadeclothing.com), based in Utah, was the result of a woman's frustration with shopping for stylish apparel that was not revealing. According to the company's website, Chelsea Rippy spent a year designing a line of undershirts for women to wear beneath low-cut tops. In 2004, Rippy and neighbor Char Gam opened Shade Clothing with this mission: "Make clothes that help women feel comfortable and hapy." Today, Shade Clothing is available on-line and there are retail outlets in 13 states selling Shade's collection of undershirts, swimwear, dresses, maternity and girls' apparel.

Two years ago, Shellie Slade and Camille Peterson of Pleasant Grove, Utah started the Mod Bod (www.themodbod.com). The two women were not satisfied with the shirts and tops available in stores, so they desinged a simple cap-sleeve shirt that filled a need. It allowed women and girls something to wear with anything - with low-rise jeans, or under low cut dresses. The line has now expanded to swimwear and accessories.

In 2005, Chantelle Thomson founded Diviine Modestee (www.divinemodestee.com) in response to finding few tasteful clothing choices for teenage girls and young women. Thomson designs the T-shirts, camisoles, swimsuits and other apparel sold on the website.

The quest for more modest clothing is gaining momentum. Many mothers are worried about what their teenage daughters are wearing, and prom dresses in recent years have been showing more and more skin. In addition, many teens and young women do not feel comfortable showing cleavage or a lot of skin. Teens and women who have bought the more modest clothing feel comfortable as well as trendy. The new offerings by Shade Clothing, the ModBod, Diviine Modestee and others are filling a definite need. You can order on-line from these companies and may even find their styles in some retail stores.

I know that there are plenty of web sites that sell just modest clothes , my problem is that those people , well most of them seem to think that you have to dress like the amish in order to look modest but I think its just not right that some one who wants to be modest in their dress is made to feel like they have to dress frompy . Theres got to be a better way .
