Before I begin to extol the praises of this diet or any other though, it is important to note that a diet tailor fit to the needs of an individual simply does not exist; except for those with unlimited funds and a personal trainer creating a weekly specialty menu! This means of course, that not everyone that tries this diet will get the same results.
First off, this diet is simply sensible. This is a diet where, unlike others I have tried, specialty foods at exhorbitant prices are simply not part of the plan. In the Nutrisystem diet I found myself shelling out upwards of 150 dollars for a box of prepackaged pre-measured food items that tasted for the most part, terrible; on a weekly basis. The Adkins diet is not founded upon sensible principles either; as a person is expected to pack in about 3-6 pounds of meat a day, with little or no carbohydrates, natural sugars from fruits and no dairy products, for the first three weeks of the diet. Curves Weight Loss was an ordeal too, in that a substitution for an food item could only be included if that substituted food had been calculated to match the existing meals of the day in terms of carb, fat, protein and calorie content. By the time myself and my daughter had put down the calculator, we had already missed the next meal! If you have ever tried any of these diets, than you know what I am talking about.
The Fat Loss For Idiots is truly a simple diet plan that anyone can understand. The theory is somewhat revolutionary as it follows this type of reasoning; the body gets used to whatever set food patterns that we establish for it. It becomes comfortable and performs accordingly. So, change the pattern, upset the established order, if you will, and see desired results. The food pattern on Weight Loss For Idiots for nine days is pretty much the same. Three days out of the week do not resemble any other days. On one of these days, the second day, you will eat fruit all day, from the designated list you have created at the beginning of the week, on the eighth day you will eat vegetables all day, and one of the days, you don't get any fruit or veges, only protein and dairy for that day. The goal is to "trick" your body into losing weight, and it works pretty well.
The menu is set up for eleven days, every eleven days you get three cheat days; not bad. Myself and my daughter have been on this diet for about three weeks and I have lost about 7 pounds so far. She has managed to shed about 10 pounds and she is 18 yrs of age and desires to lose about 40 more. If you have a teenage son or daughter, it can work for her/him quite nicely, as well as yourself. There is a guiding principle to this diet which helps a lot and that is, to never eat until you feel stuffed, but to eat just until you feel satisfied. The other rule is too get some exercise, a walk at a good steady pace for about 30 minutes a day, is recommended. No need to measure food amounts or weigh meat portions on a scale. Sensibility seems to be the order of the day.
This diet is the least expensive of all of them that I have tried. You simply go to the store and get all the foods you need for the week. Foods from the basic food groups will be included on your list, so no additional costs whatsoever, in fact, you will probably find your grocery bill decreasing slightly, due to buying meat or soy products in large quantities. This diet is flexible, the fact that you will be buying largely meat or soy based products depends on whether or not you choose the vegetarian plan or the standard plan. Yes, they have thought to include a choice for non meat-eaters. I have tried both and have personally found the vegetarian plan to be the easiest, least expensive and most effective of the two!
The fact that the combination of foods from the food groups that you eat on a daily basis ad to the overall nutritional value your body receives from this diet. Daily, you will be eating primarily, protein, with a little dairy, a little fruit and or a serving of vegetables, depending on the day and how you have set up the menu at the beginning of the cycle. So, the four basic food groups are represented and apportioned in smaller quantities daily, throughout the nine day period, so that you can have the fifth food group, all the bread and cereal you and your body desire, on your days off!
So, I encourage you, who have struggled with too many diets and feel like giving up to give it one last whirl. This is neither a low carb, low calorie, or low fat diet, instead it is a sensible diet plan that is balanced and works with your body by boosting your natural metabolism, from eating four sensible portions daily, not starving yourself. This is an enjoyable diet, still, I would not do you justice to leave you with "Bon Appetite" on your venture into the world of the Fat Loss For Idiots Diet, because no diet is as fun as eating your favorite foods, but I will leave you instead with, "Happy Dieting," which is much more appropriate.
