Father God Calls Out "It's Twilight Time"

Recently one word; "Twilight" has been on my mind.. The Lord seeks to get our attention in ways such as this. It could be a word, a phrase, a song, a word from an article or from scripture that just seems to come alive before us.

Twilight:

a. The diffused light from the sky during the early evening or early morning when the sun is below the horizon and its light is refracted by the earth's atmosphere.
b.The time of the day when the sun is just below the horizon, especially the period between sunset and dark.
2.Dim or diffused illumination.
3.A period or condition of decline following growth, glory, or success: in the twilight of his life.
A state of ambiguity or obscurity.

I see that the twilight hour is the evening time before the greatest darkness of the night arrives, a time in the natural when preparations are made for the night ahead. A time of diffused illumination. The twilight hour can also siganl an end of the day and the approach of a new day. A time to prepare.

As I studied and looked deeper into the reason for this word being on my heart, I was reminded of the beautiful song made popular many years back by The Platters, "It's Twilight Time" .

What is the song saying ? The song speaks of the voice of a lover calling to the one he loves and yearns for. It describes very beautifully the day ending and the night approaching. That certainly does describe these times we live in. We are warned by Jesus to understand the signs of the times.

Matthew 16: 2,3
He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times

What is to be learned from this ?

Several signs of the time we live in are revealed. Darkness follows the twilight hour. Darkness spiritually represents the works of the devil, a time where evil abounds. The light represents Jesus Christ, the light of truth. He is the spirit of truth and the light of the world. The powerful light of spiritual truth dispels the darkness of spiritual ignorance. The world is in darkness and is desperately in need of God's love and light.

These times described here are the times in which the voice of the Lord calls to us. In his great love, he will send messages which can alert us to the dangers of a condition of darkness. He calls out to us to come closer and to experience the safety of his presence. In his presence we are prepared to deal with the night approaching.

God gave the prophet Ezekiel specific instructions about preparations in the twilight hour:

Ezekiel 12:6
... In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: ..

Ezekiel 12:7
... I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight....

Ezekiel 12:12
And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight,and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: ...

Our Father is using many sons and daughters to sow seeds of wisdom and invitation and warning. His elect draw drawing close to his heart and dig for the truths hidden in him to feed and nourish his sheep. Many are acting as his voice, some are listening for his voice, some are not yet alerted to the seriousness of the night approaching and must be awakened to his voice. So many are trying to walk with the Lord, but need tender love and instruction in walking out his truth. We must learn to be rightly positioned to ensure that we continually shine his light into the darkness of the lives of those he loves. Light comes as we hunger and thirst for the bread of life, his rhema word, spoken by his anointed disciples, and his logos word through scriptural revelation.

2 Peter 1:10
Now we have a more sure word of prophecy; which you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.

We must learn and teach others to seek and heed his calls! We must maintain our victory through Christ's blood over enemy strategies in our lands. We must be equipped to see in the dark, to be on the alert in the twilight hour for spiritual enemies which are active in spiritual darkness.

Job 24:15
... ... "The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, Saying, 'No eye will see me.' And he disguises his face. ...

Prov. 7:9-15
At twilight, as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.
The tempter hides,
now in the street, now in the squares,
at every corner she lurks.

The enemy hides himself in darkness; lying words of accusation, temptations, and of the doctrines of devils. The desire of the enemy is to tempt God's people to turn away from his right ways and commit spiritual adultery. We must seek to enter in at the strait gate and not be led away from the narrow path.

We can overcome!

God has not left his people without an escape route! We are equipped to ask and find the Lord's path of escape. Faithful and fervent prayer times and the seeking of discernment will enable us to rise up into the light of victory and peace in him.

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Our light must shine bright in these twilight hours for the salvation of those who are in danger of being lost. Prayers and intercessions must go forth for many who still slumber and are groping in the darkness.

Acts 3:19...
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,
that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

God is good, he is passionate to call to us, to bring us near. We just need to learn and to listen to his voice of love! He wants us home with him as we walk through this life and always looking forward to the eternal hope.

Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Those who refuse the necessary preparations could be shut out! Diligent preparations made in the twilight hours will ensure the reward of the faithful.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
