Father, One Man - a Poem

Pablo Diaz
Father,

I write this to a man, the man who wakes up in the middle of the night and cares for me during nightmares. Father, a man who protects the woman who means everything in my life, the man who provides for my family. The man that goes to work early in the morning, sacrifices his life for mine. A man who means it all, who goes through everything just to make sure the "family" is secure and healthy. Who better than a man to lead the role, the role of a leader? A guide, a man who guides you in the night, it's the light that shines brightly; dearly walking before you so that you don't fall.

Father,

Only one man who can see ahead, who can plan, protect, and provide. A Godly man, a man who follows God and loves his family. I want to be this man. I want to provide as this man does.

In the times of need, in the times of trials, he is always there with a smile. With a strength to help you through the pain, one who's heart is there on the table for you. Father is he who realizes that he is not a perfect man, but a work in progress, one who is always learning and adapting to life. Making life about his loved ones, not about himself. Why? Because this man is not selfish, this man does not seek his own, this man is a Godly man. A man that follows God and loves greatly.

Father,

A man that sheds tears, hidden in the shadow of the night, so that no one knows his weakness, not because he is proud, but because he wants to show strength 100% of the time. Father, is the man who gives his life for you, like mine gives his life for me. Like the one who sent His Son to die for us! Father, is the living man who sits next to me and the God in heaven who died for me!

I love you dad!
