Bateaux New York Father's Day Cruises: Taking off from Chelsea Piers at 1 p.m. is what the Bateaux group is calling "a sophisticated Father's Day event on the water." Your dad will enjoy great food, live music, great views, fantastic desserts, and a very memorable and relaxing couple of hours. This is also a good pair gift to give to Mom, too, in the event that you shorted her on Mother's Day. The cruise is from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; boarding begins at 12:30 p.m. The cruise is $67. There is also a dinner cruise that begins boarding at 6:15 p.m., takes off at 7 p.m., and returns at 10 p.m. The price for the dinner cruise is $177.90.
Wine Regions of the World Tasting Series: If your dad wants to spend Sunday with family, you can book him a seat on the Wine Regions of the World Tasting Series aboard the beautiful yacht Manhattan. This event also takes place at Chelsea Piers but happens on Saturday, June 18. The World Tasting Series is an ongoing event and the event on June 18 will deal with styles of red wine that are deserving a slight chill. The wines are paired with artisan and farm stand cheeses, jams, dried fruits, honey, and bread. Tickets are $101.21.
The Spa at Chelsea Piers: Another great gift for Dad (and, again, Mom if you flunked Mother's Day) would be a spa package at Chelsea Piers. Your dad can get a massage, body therapies, hand and feet attention, skin care, and even have a party in the spa! For the New Yorker dad who needs to unwind, a spa package at Chelsea Piers is totally fine. Pair the gift with a nod to Mom and you're scoring double the brownie points.
Flushing Meadows Golf Center: What is it they say about dads? All they want to do is play golf and be left alone? Well, now you can give Dad just what he was hoping for with a day at Flushing Meadows Golf Center. An 18-hole pitch and putt golf course surrounds the grounds by Shea Stadium. The course is even lit for nighttime play. If your dad really is a disgruntled Mets fan, he could even take out his frustrations and send some balls over Shea way.
These are just a few of the myriad of Father's Day selections you can offer your dad for Father's Day 2011 in New York City. Don't forget to tell your dad you love him! Happy Father's Day, everyone!
