Father's Day Card Messages

Rachelle Dawson
Writing Father's Day card messages can be difficult for those who have a hard time talking openly with their fathers. If you wish to honor your dad this Father's Day, but you aren't sure what to say, peruse the following suggestions for some ideas for your own Father's Day card messages.

Father's Day Card Messages about Discipline
Use these Father's Day messages to express appreciation for a father who took the time to discipline you and teach you values as you grew up:

Dear Dad, you had the hard job. I made all the trouble, and you cleaned up behind me. Thanks for teaching me the difference between right and wrong.

Daddy, you taught me to take responsibility for my actions. If I've never told you how much I appreciated your discipline, I'm telling you now. Thanks. Happy Father's Day.

Father's Day was always the time Mom bought you new clothes and said they were from us kids. Somehow, I don't think it was a big enough reward for your hard work every day throughout the year. You encouraged us when we made good decisions and corrected us when we made poor ones. Thanks, Dad.

Father's Day Card Messages about Involvement
Use these Father's Day messages to write to a father who gave you his time:

Happy Father's Day! You always came to my games/recitals/concerts. I appreciate your involvement in my life all those years.

Pops, you knew all of my friends. You kept an eye on where I was going. I knew when I was in trouble that you would help me get through it. That still means a lot to me today. Happy Father's Day.

Dad, I'm so glad you were around as I grew up. A lot of my friends weren't so fortunate. I'm thankful for you.

Father's Day Card Messages about Work
Use these Father's Day messages to thank a father who worked to provide for the needs of your family:

Dad, I didn't always understand why you worked so much. Now that I'm older, I can see that you really wanted to provide for our family. You took your responsibility seriously. Thanks, Dad. I hope you have a truly happy Father's Day.

I still can't believe that you didn't really enjoy your work all those years. But you went every day so that I could have the chance to do things you never could. You deserve every bit of honor you receive this Father's Day.

Thanks for teaching me a good work ethic. Your example has challenged me when I have wanted to give up on the job.

Father's Day card messages can be as simple as a couple sentences. Everyone likes to be told that they are appreciated, even men who don't like mushy cards. If your father is still alive, Father's Day is a good reminder for you to thank your father for something he's done well. Don't miss the opportunity.
