Father's Day Crafts

Craft Name #1 - "365 Reasons Why I Love You" (Source: Cindy Persico):

Materials needed:

Large circular container with lid big enough to hold 365 tiny pieces of paper large enough to read.

Notebook or legal pad paper, enough to write 365 reasons.

Scrap paper

An ink pen and extra one in case you run out of ink.

Magic markers or permanent markers

Construction Paper

Scotch Tape

Scissors

Instructions:

Allow yourself plenty of time for this one. It normally is suggested that you start this two months ahead of time but if you work diligently and every spare minute you can, you can do it in time. Also make sure you know this dad, surrogate dad, step dad, foster dad, adoptive dad; etc. well because it's really tough to come up with this many reasons if you're not close to the person emotionally.

Make a list of 365 reasons why you love this person and make sure you don't repeat yourself.

After you're done with your list write each reason on a tiny piece of paper and put them all in the container.

Take a piece of construction paper and write in big letters with the markers "365 Reasons Why I Love You" then wrap the construction paper around the container as a giant label.

The dad opens up a new reason each day of the year for him to enjoy every day. Make sure you tell him this when he opens his gift.

Craft #2 - "Thank You For....." (Source: Cindy Persico):

Materials Needed:

Notebook paper or any writing paper

Scrap paper

Scissors

Scotch Tape

Small to Medium Container with Lid

Ink Pen

Construction Paper or Fancy Writing Paper

Markers

Instructions:

Make a list of things you'd like to thank the Dad for through the years.

Write each thing on a separate piece of scrap paper and put in the container.

On the outside of the container use the construction or fancy writing paper to write with the markers "Thank You For."

Wrap the container with the label you made reading "Thank You For." The Dad can read each one at his leisure, either savoring each one a day or reading a few every two to three days.

Craft #3 - "Do You Remember?" (Source: Terri Rimmer)

Materials Needed:

Computer

Large wide picture frame big enough to hold two sheets of copy paper/printing paper side by side

Printing or copy paper, colored or not

Printer

Instructions:

At the top of the list that you'll make on your computer, write in big bold letters (Not too big!) - "Do You Remember?"

Type up a list of memories of the dad, 1-2 pages long.

Print them out and frame them side by side after trimming the edges of the paper to fit to frame.

Optional: You can put clip art or a picture of the two of you in the frame with the list if you can fit them.

Craft 4 - "Photo Memory T-Shirt" (Source: Cindy Persico):

Materials Needed:

Photo of you and the dad or dad and the family

Plain white t-shirt dad's size

Money to pay for the silk screening - call around and check prices ahead of time

New plain white t-shirt

Instructions:

Buy a new plain white t-shirt your dad's size

Pick out a picture of you and the dad or dad and the family and take to a silk screen shop.

Have the shop put a copy of the photo on the front of the shirt.

Tip: Make sure to tell the dad not to put the shirt in the dryer after washing so it lasts longer.

These gifts truly come from the heart and may give as much back to the person making the crafts as the fathers who receive them, coming up with 365 reason a father is loved, etc.
