Father's Day Events in Memphis

If your family lives in Memphis, there is plenty for your family to do this Father's Day weekend. Whether your family is outdoorsy, enjoys racing, loves animals, food or shopping, there is bound to be an event this Father's Day that appeals to you.

If your family enjoys camping and/or animals, the Memphis Zoo is holding a Father's Day Snooze on Friday, June 17 at 7pm until 9am on Saturday. This is an event where families can stay overnight at the zoo, learning, playing games and taking a midnight safari. The fee for members is $55 per person, more for nonmembers. This fee includes a snack, breakfast, a souvenir t-shirt and zoo admission on Saturday in addition to the night activities.

Over at the AgriCenter International on Walnut Grove Road they have a full schedule for Father's Day weekend. Saturday and Sunday they are hosting the Memphis Flea Market ("The Big One") at the Expo Center, so if dad likes to shop for deals, that might be a fun outing for the whole family. Admission is $2 per person, with free admission for kids 12 and under. Flea Market hours are 8am to 5pm.

At the Showplace Arena at the AgriCenter from Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19, starting at 8am, families can watch the Barrel Bash barrel racing competition. Fathers and mothers who own and ride their own horses could even participate in the races, for a fee. You can also visit Barrel Bash on Facebook. There is no information available on their site regarding admission prices, so contact them by email or telephone for any additional details.

Also at the AgriCenter is the 30th annual TN Fun Fest which starts on Thursday, June 16 and goes through Saturday, June 18. Activities at this three day festival include a motorcycle ride on Thursday, which is sponsored by Harley-Davidson, daily barbeque contests, food stalls, carnival rides and games, inflatable play areas and other games and activities for the kids, wine and imported beer, several arts and crafts vendors, a mechanical bull and other events. This event is being held in part to help raise money for the Alzheimer's Association, according to their Facebook page. Wrist bands are $15, per information on the vendor application (TN Fun Fest link above), but the main page is currently under construction, so you may want to email TN Fun Fest for the specific details.
