Father's Day Gift Ideas

Stumped on What You Could Get Your Dad for Father's Day? Here Are a Few Ideas!

Amy Gayle
So what do you get the guy that has everything? Every year, I am left scratching my head in wonder as to what I should get my husband and my Dad for Father's Day. I decided that I wanted to make sure I get them the best gift possible. No more ties, no more ugly sweaters, and no more "World's Greatest Dad" statues! It's time to throw down those "Kiss The Cook" aprons and get your gift buying in for a tune up! Let me help you out! Let's make your gift the best he could ever ask for.

-Give the gift of music! Get your dad an MP3 player this year! They are a wonderful gift that keeps on giving. Depending on how much he's into music, that will depend on what size MP3 player you'd need to buy. Generally, I tell people a 4GB MP3 player is a good size for anyone.

-Swiss Army Knife of the future!!! SwissMemory 256 comes with a USB drive with 256 MB, which is great to transport his favorite MP3's, digital pictures or any computer file. It simply plugs into his computer, so that he can drag and drop his files. The SwissMemory 256 also comes with cool new features, like a ballpoint pen, and a laser light. It also comes with the old school scissors, a file and a penknife. It retails for a cool $97.

-Golf it up! If he loves to golf or is looking to learn, a gift certificate to a local course is always a great gift for any dad! Find a course that has instructors and buy him a few hours with a teacher! If he doesn't like the course, he can always use the gift certificate in their gift shop!

-Does Daddy dread yard work? Fork up the dough and get a local lawn care company to come out and cut his grass a few times. If he is anal about doing that himself, then maybe you can get them to come and do a few treatments to make the grass look beautiful all summer long!

-Make his car sparkle! Set your dad up with some kick butt detailing! Go to a local detail shop and get him a gift certificate to have the entire car detailed! No one loves anything better than a clean car!

-Coupon Coupon! Give your dad a book of coupons of things you will do for him throughout the year. You can have coupons for things such as shining his shoes, getting his oil changed, taking him to dinner, or just simply running some errands for him. It's personal and a gift that keeps giving throughout the year to show him how much you love and appreciate all he has done for you.

-What time is it? Get your dad a beautiful new watch! Every time he looks to see what time it is, he will remember how much you loved him when you gave it to him!

-Chip in! Go in together with some other siblings and get your dad a round trip ticket to one of his favorite places! If you can pitch in more, get one for mom, too!

-Keep connected! If your dad doesn't have a cell phone or Internet access, pay for a year of service for one or both! This way, you can stay connected and also you can rest assured that dad is taken care of if he would need that cell phone in an emergency!

-Pamper him! Nowadays, it's much more acceptable for a man to take pride in his appearance and in his health. Set your dad up with a massage or a manicure or pedicure! He may even be up for a fabulous facial! He doesn't need to be embarrassed to look good and feel good!

I hope some of these tips help you out this year! Let's keep dad's around the world happy this year and not give them one more thing that isn't going to be used or appreciated!
