Anne Keller
Is your dad (or husband) a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) player? Maybe he likes to play another one of the many "dice-based games" that are out there?

If you're not a gamer yourself, you're probably wondering what in the world to buy him for Father's Day. Well, here are a few suggestions for your gaming daddy:

New Dice - D&Der's can never have enough dice. There are a wide variety of dice available, for every budget out there. To get the biggest bang for the buck, you may want to pick up one of the multi-packs, which consist of many cheap dice in one big package. If you go this route, make sure to pick a pack that has a variety of types, including 4, 6, 10 and 20-siders. Yes, they will use them all! If you want something really special, there are special sets of dice available, made of metals, crystals and even gemstones! Many gaming stores carry these dice and can special order them for you.

A New Bag or Container for His Dice - Any gamer worth his weight in dice is always in search of a new container for his dice. Most gamers covet the soft jeweler's bags that we women carry our jewelry in when we travel. There are also a variety of bags and containers made specifically for dice.

A New Book - Take inventory of what he has in his gaming library and try to fill in the gaps. Most gaming books are between $30 and $40 but can be found online for a slightly lower price. The clerk at your local gaming store will be glad to suggest a book or two that will suit your father's day gifting needs.

A Shirt - Gamers love shirts that proclaim their gaming hobby. The best place to find these shirts are at cafepress.com. Just search for "D&D shirt", and you'll discover plenty of father's day gifts for your gaming fiend.

Magazine Subscription - Yes, there are gaming magazines still out there. Your local gaming store will be able to point you in the direction of a useful magazine that your dad will love.

Gaming Comic - D&D and other dice-based games have been the subject of many comics, paper and web-based. "Knights of the Dinner Table" is a fine example of just such a comic. You can find a variety of these comics at your local gaming store.

For more suggestions, visit your local gaming store. The salesmen there are always happy to help you find the best father's day gift for the gamer in your life.
