Fathers Day Gifts He's Sure to Enjoy!

Make it Memorable

It's really not hard to come up with great gift ideas when you take into consideration who the gift is for. This gift is for Dad, the man you have known most of your life if not all of your life! You should know him pretty well by now. With that in mind, think about what it is that Dad likes. Think about how hard he works not only on his job but around the house. What does he like to do for leisure time? What's his favorite foods? Although most of us tend to look at the men in our lives as rocks (sturdy, strong, solid and sometimes unbudging) beneath their rough exterior lies a sentimental soul.

Somethings he will appreciate: Lighten his load around the house, what are some of the many chores Dad is responsible for?
Taking out the trash, mowing-raking-weeding, cleaning the automobiles, cleaning the garage, painting a fence, for farm folk- feeding and tending to the animals, baling hay, weeding the vegetable gardens.

Give Dad a day or week of rest it's up to you! Wash his car (clean inside and out of course), Take out the trash for a whole week. Mow, rake and weed the entire lawn. I am sure by now you get the idea. You know his chores, just choose one or more that you know he will be tickled not to have to do, if only for a day!

Things he will love: Cook him his favorite meal or dessert! They say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, find out if this is true. What is his favorite food? Spaghetti, lasagna, steak, burgers, tacos. What about dessert or snacks. Bake his favorite cake, pie, cookies etc. These are items you must not buy, they need to be made by you!

Things he will remember: Think about his hobbies or leisure activities. Does he like to fish, watch sports, golf, bowling, hiking, boating etc. Create a memorable day with Dad. Just the two of you all alone doing something he enjoys and who knows you might find yourself having a bit of fun in the process! Plan a picnic at the lake, but whatever you decide to do be sure to bring a camera so there will be pictures to reminisce over in the future.

Special handmade gifts: A fathers day card made just for him. Do you knit or crochet? How about a warm and cozy Afghan for snuggling up on those cold days and evenings. Knit a sweater, but remember he only has two arms even though we sometimes assume he has more with all we expect him to do! If your crafty or good with tools how about an ottoman/foot stool so he can put up his feet and rest after a hard days work. Make a collage with pictures of you and him or the entire family through the years. Write him a poem from the heart. You know your talents or capabilities.

Well there you have it, some ideas and tips for giving Dad the best day ever! So what are you sitting there for, better get started it's only weeks away!
