Father's Day Haiku Poem: "Smiling Blue Eyes"

Eric Holden
One of my favorite forms of poetry is the Haiku.

This style of poetry typically features a total of 17 syllables, in a 5-7-5 line structure. What makes this a wonderful form is that the writer must use a minimal number of words to paint the picture of a story that is much more complex.

Here is my haiku to describe this wonderful image:

Blue eyes filled with joy,
sparkling like a star at night.
Like father, like son.
