Today of all days is Father's Day,
A day set aside to remember the man.
Remember the man who carved out the way,
the way for me to become a man.
He taught me the do's and don'ts of life,
he showed me how to treat a wife.
I learned out to minimize strife,
lessons learned to maximize life.
I remember times of history past,
where I forgot my Father, I put him last.
So many things had happened so fast,
I should have remembered he is the mast.
Strong and solid my father did stand,
Strict and stern but honest and fair.
Always listening to those Big Bands,
with the music on there was never a care.
One thing is certain throughout this time,
You were always proud of what I tried.
You cheered the loudest out of pride,
You always offered me your last dime.
You have always been there for me when I needed you,
And as much as we both deny it,
I am my Fathers Son.
