Father's Day Poem: A Father's Job

J. Ellen Fedder
A Father's Job - Haiku

Alarm rings, get dressed...
Grab coat, lunch, keys, join commute--
Day away for pay

Wife and kids on mind...
Best effort, please boss, please God--
Provide for my own

Son's evening ball game...
Daughter's one tea party guest--
Where I aim to be

Father's Day morning...
Kid-wrapped presents for me read--
"Best daddy ever"
