Faux Beef Stew

Beef stew is a delicious dish for winter or fall. If you want to make it fast, say the in-laws just called and said they'd be over in 20 minutes, then this is the recipe for you. I learned how to make this in Tennessee while working in a Pit BBQ and Grill. It's so easy to make, you can thank me later.

You will need

• 1 or 2 pounds of beef cubes or ground beef (either way is delicious)
• 2 (two) regular cans of Veg All Vegetables. The big and chunky kind is best.
• 1 (one) 16 ounce jar of Picante sauce. (I prefer Pace brand, but any one will work)
• A medium to large pot.
• A ladle
• A spray bottle with water in it.

How to make it
First, put the pot on a stove eye. You will cooking this on med to med-hi heat (depending on how fast this needs to get hot.)

1. Brown the beef cubes or ground beef. If you're in a rush, you can use the microwave for this. Just pull out the browned parts and add it to your pot.

2. Open the cans of Veg All and dump them in the pot. Hide the evidence! Put the cans in the trash and bury them!

3. Open the jar of picante sauce and dump it in.

4. Once the beef is brown, drain the grease off (DO NOT RINSE) and then add it to the pot.

5. Stir your stew with the ladle and let it get bubbly hot, then turn it to simmer.

6. This is the most important step! Spray your forehead with water from your spray bottle to make it look like you've just spent all day slaving over a hot stove.
