Subterranean Homesick Blues: An upbeat and energetic song that does justice to the lyrics. The message of the song is a sarcastic look at the societal rules that we are trained to live by. The song starts and finishes so quickly that it acts a musical analogy for life in America and in general.
Hurricane: Musically this is a masterpiece with a story that elevates this epic ballad to the upper echelon of social commentary. The narrative tale is focused on the wrongful conviction of former #1 middleweight contender, Rubin Carter, who was imprisoned for 20 years after a triple murder in a Paterson, NJ. Hurricane is an 8+ minute song that exhibits Dylan's superb songwriting ability.
Mr. Tambourine Man: During the 1960s New York City drug dealers were often referred to as Tambourine Men, but this ditty is about more than a drug addict trying to get a fix. It doubles as an innocent portrayal of all the failed seekers and optimists who stumbled along the sidewalks of time. Easily one of my favorite Dylan songs as it has a melancholy yet peaceful sound that causes a pleasantly calm mental state when listened to.
Positively 4th Street: The melody is one that induces a mellow bout of foot-tapping and head-nodding. Lyrically it is something everyone can relate to and is just one of many Dylan songs that bring about a certain kind of joy when hearing it.

I love Positively 4th Street. I listen to it when I'm pissed off when people are stupid and it makes me feel better.
I love Boy Dylan. Thanks for the article.
Rock and Roll would not be what it is today with Bob Dylan!
I love Bob Dylan. Although I like Ani Difranco's version of Hurricane much better. Awesome songwriting though.
