The number one favorite website in my home is DisneyChannel.com. Since Disney is their favorite television channel it would be normal for them to want to visit the website. DisneyChannel.com has a large variety of age appropriate activites and games for children of all ages to enjoy. There are games to go with their television show couterparts. For example the game "Zack & Cody's Tipton Trouble" is based on the tv show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The game has you trying to sneak the Zack and Cody through the maze of the hotel without getting caught by other people in the hotel. You do errands, collect coins and collect foods along the way. DisneyChannel.com also has many other games on their site that coincide with the matching television show. Just look for your favorite show and you will find a game or two to enjoy.
The next children website that my children enjoy is Noggin.com. This site is geared more toward the younger children. There are games like the Doodlepad, where children can draw a picture and then submit it for a chance to see their art displayed on the television channel. There are games your child can play with Maisey or even Burt from Play With Me Sesame. Noggin.com has ABC games, counting games and even a game where your child can determine who has more items between two characters. My six year old's favorite character is currently Pink Dinky Do, so she enjoys the Great Big Fancy Word Game. There are even printable coloring pages on Noggin.com for your child to enjoy.
Our next favorite children website is CartoonNetwork.com. Cartoon Network is a very popular television channel with children, therefore the website is packed full of fun things to do. There are over 140 free games to play on this childrens website. Just like the other websites, this one has games that go with television shows that are aired, or were previously aired, on Cartoon Network. One favorite game of my girls, is Krypto the Super Dog's X-Ray Fetch. Krypto the Super Dog has to fly through a museum and collect stolen items that are hidden throughout the museum by using his x-ray vision to find them.
Another favorite children website is Nick.com. Are you seeing a pattern here? Yes this is another television based website. My girls love their cartoons. Nick.com has many games and activities available for children of all ages to enjoy. There are games based on Spongebob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron and even Timmy Turner from "The Fairly Odd Parents". What Nickelodeon cartoon is your child's favorite? I'll bet that no matter which television show is their favorite, there will be a game for them to play that goes along with the show.
The last children website that I want to hit on is geared towards girls. It's called EverythingGirl.com. Since I have all girls this website is a huge hit. EverythingGirl.com is mainly a portal to other websites geared toward girls. It has links to other websites like Barbie, MyScene, PollyPocket and many more. On EverythingGirl.com children can play games to earn points. Everyone likes earning points.
A few other favorite children websites that are visited regularly here in our home are Discovery Kids (kids.discovery.com), Jetix.net & 4Kids.tv. All of these sites have games and activites for children to play. There are many many childrens websites on the world wide web so just look around and you will find something that is appropriate for your children. Happy surfing!

Post a CommentThanks for the list. Hopefully, soon I will need it.
Great list. I'm forwarding this to my stepdaughters, so they can keep these sites in mind as their children get a little older.
Great sites, my daughter loves these. I'll have to show her the everything girl one.
I like the list. I'll have to bookmark for the grandchildren.
My sons are occasionally allowed to use my computer. When they do they go straight to Nickelodeon.com or nickjr.com. There's tons of stuff to do on there, and it's fun to hear them laughing and having so much fun.
Great list. I'm 29 and thoroughly enjoy the Cartoon Network site. LOL.
Nice article! I'll have to keep these sites in mind for when my daughter gets older.
