Favorite Christmas Movies of All Time

Victoria Williams
I picked out the Christmas movies that have the most memories for me. Most are from when I was growing up watching them with my family. I remember my Aunts in the kitchen cooking dinner and it smelling so good. Us kids trying to sneak a bite when we could. Now making new memories with my own kids and telling them about my childhood. No wonder people say its the most wonderful time of the year.
Here are the movies I picked out. (In no particular order)

A Smokey Mountain Christmas stars Dolly Pardon and was released in 1986. I watch this movie every year. I absolutely adore it. It is about this famous country singer (Dolly) who plans this secret get away to a friends cabin in the Smokey Mountains in Tenn. When she gets there she finds seven children have been hiding out there. They make a deal, she won't tell their secret (runaway orphans) and they won't tell her secret (run away star) until after Christmas. What she doesn't know is she was followed by a paparazzi and a "witch woman". The Witch Woman tries to kill her and the paparazzi gets her arrested and the kids taken to the local foster home. Then the adventure begins to get them all free. The movie is a good family movie and I highly recommend it for all.

A Christmas Carol There are so many versions of this movie out there it can be hard to find which is the best. Many people love the one called Scrooged with Bill Murray but my favorite on is with Patrick Stewart as Ebenezer Scrooge. He looks the part the best to me.

White Christmas I know its not so much a full Christmas all the way through movie but I love Bing Crosby. The singing, dancing and love story just make it perfect for the holidays. I watch it leading up to Christmas and it gets me feeling good and ready to get out Bing's Christmas Cd's and start decorating.

Home Alone I remember my Aunt and I sneaking off to the movie theater to see this movie it was the first one she ever took me to. I never expect it we had the best time together. I will never forget that day so this movie will always have a special little place in my heart. When I had my kids I bought it for them and we watch it every year on the first of December just like Juanita and I did. After that the kids like to watch it a million times more but I watch it that one time with them every year.

A Christmas Story is a movie you would just turn the television on and it was on, if not that one it was Its A Wonderful Life. We all know what its like wanting something so bad and everybody telling us NO. The embarrassing Christmas gift from the relative far away who refuses to realize you are growing up and the father that "thinks" he can fix everything instead of getting a professional to actually do it we all have been there. Thats why it has survived so long and is loved by so many we all can see someone we know in that movie. Jimmy Stewart is one of those actors that in any movie you just have to love him and would watch him over and over.

Miracle on 34th St I love because you never know what may happen if you keep believing and have faith. Natalie Wood is adorable in this movie and in the 1994 remake Mara Wilson does a fantastic job also. I just prefer the older movies. Child innocence can teach us all something. We all get so caught up with everything we need to believe in something or someone sometimes too.
