The fall season is my personal favorite. Unlike the other three seasons, the fall is the only season where the world is full of vibrant color. Flowers are still in bloom. Trees are changing colors, and nature is at its glorious. It should come as no surprise that I enjoy getting outside during the fall season, one of my favorite hobbies to do is walking and playing in the leaves.
Walking is very relaxing and great for the health, but when you throw the beauty of the fall, it makes the experience unforgettable. My family and I enjoy going on a nature trail walk where we can enjoy the beauty around us.
Then, while we are out and about, we like to collect leaves. It may seem like a silly tradition but to me, it is priceless. It began when my oldest son was two years old and mistook the leaves for flowers. Ever year now my kids collect leaves for me in place of picking flowers.
When they are done, we pick out the best ones, and then seal them within wax paper. This is a very cheap project to do, and most of us already have wax paper and an iron in the house. Basically, all you do is place a leaf between two sheets of wax paper and lightly iron the paper together.
Later, as the season deepens, I begin to do my yard work. Most individuals enjoy doing this in the spring time, but I love cleaning my yard up in the fall. I choose the fall because Michigan winters are harsh, and come spring, I want to enjoy the warm weather and not dread the fact I have yard work to do.
So, each fall we get everything raked up and all cleaned up for the harsh winter ahead of us. However, we do like to have a little fun first and there is nothing better than having a good ole fashion leaf fight.
Each year we rake the leaves into a pile, jump around in them and toss them about. After all the fun is done, we finally bag them up in Halloween bags. These bags are very cheap to get, and you can buy them at any store that carries Halloween items. I am personally fond of the pumpkin bags but have seen other different styles.
As the fall season comes to an end, and winter begins to bear down on us all, I know I got a couple of months to enjoy my three favorite fall hobbies.

Thanks Rita - It is not always easy.
I love all of these too, but also like the cool nights around a campfire or a bonfire. Thanks for the comment on my meal planning article. I admire that you can stick to a plan. I need to work on that. :)
