Favorite Funny Christmas Movies According to You

Victoria Williams
When I decided to do this assignment I thought about making it into a survey and see what other peoples favorite funny Christmas movies are. I was a little surprised that there was such a gap between the top favorites and all the rest. Many movies were mentioned, but I only had room for the top ten on my list. I hope you enjoy reading this list as much as I did creating it. I am ready now to start watching them and break out the tree and fighting with the lights...wait maybe that can wait a few more days. I will just watch the movies and bake some cookies for Santa today. Maybe eat a cookie or two also.

I asked various people around what their three favorite funny Christmas movies were. I did not give choices it was completely up to them. Then I just tallied up the votes to see which ones got the most mentions. There were many more mentioned but I was only doing a list of the top 10 so here they are.

#10. Fred Claus with 5 mentions

#9 (tie) 6 each for Jingle all the way and A Christmas Carol (The "Scrooged" version received 2)

#8 Deck the Halls was mentioned 7 times. Half also liked Jingle all the way.

#7 Christmas with the Cranks despite critic reviews people lite it. Eight people loved it out of my little study.

#6 Home Alone I really thought would get more than it did with 10 if I would have voted (I didn't want to influence the outcome any) it would have tied with the Grinch. (part 2 received 1, part 3 received 1, part 4 received 1)

#5 The Grinch got 11 and broke into the top 5. (Dr Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas received 6 votes)

#4 The Santa Clause received 13 votes (part 2 received 2 votes and part 3 received 1 vote)

#3 Elf 14 people loved this movie. I was a little surprised it was so high on the list.

#2 National Lampoons Christmas Vacation got 20 mentions and it really shocked me it was not number one.

#1 A Christmas Story was voted 24 as the favorite funny Christmas movie. I absolutely love this movie but I did not know that many people did too. I really was expecting Christmas Vacation to get it by a few votes.

If you were voting what would be your choices?
Mine would be: A Christmas Story; Home Alone; The Santa Clause.

A Christmas Story was a family favorite when my kids were growing up. We would watch it together on Christmas morning.
