V.C. Andrews has been an inspiration to me as a writer since the moment I picked up one of her books. She was born Cleo Virginia Andrews in 1923. Her life was cut short at the age of 62 years from breast cancer in 1986. Despite her death, her family have hired someone to continue to allow her words and imagination to touch the lives of readers all over the world.

This woman who brought imaginative stories alive for readers, she continues to speak out from her grave. The family had hired a ghostwriter to continue to bring beautiful work to her fans.

Flowers in the Attic was one of the first books I read of hers. This book itself captured my heart. The creativity and imagination of her work speaks volumes to readers. The characters in this book tell a story of children who were locked away in an attic of a mansion for almost three years or longer. All because a mother was greedy and wanted nothing but to rid herself of her four children and to win the trust of her father to gain access to his money.

Even though in her books, there is a lot of controversial issues such as incest and various other topics. She knows how to capture the attention and hearts of her beloved readers. She has captured mine from the beginning. She is indeed a favorite writer. V.C. Andrews has taught me to never give up on my dreams of becoming a published author. Her creations are one of a kind. I hope to become an inspiration to my readers as she has done for me over the years.

V.C. Andrews books' are in series, except for one, and that is, "My Sweet Audrina." This is the only book she wrote during her life that wasn't apart of a series and didn't include incest. Each novel has a set of characters you learn to love and to hate. She is my all time favorite novelist. Her novels have a way of speaking to your heart and bring you into her world of imagination and creativity.
