Favre Makes the Packers Pay

Monday night at the Metrodome may go down as the sporting event of the year. The crowd was raucous, and ready for a little football. Without a doubt all of Hanks friends were there for Monday night to see Brett Favre get his revenge on the Green Bay Packers. A record cable audience tuned in to see Favre taking on his former team.

Favre pulled out his amazing set of skills as he sliced the Packers up for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. Aiding in the defeat of the Packers was an awesome performance by the Viking offensive line. Favre's bodyguards didn't allow a Packer lineman to get close all night as they held the Packers to zero sacks and barely any hurries. Favre and the rest of his Viking team mates proved to be too much for the Packers pulling out the win 30-23.

Lost in the excitement of the game, but certainly not the lead up was Favre's attempt at proving to the Packers that he was more valuable than Packer QB Aaron Rogers. Undoubtedly Favre heard the relentless ringing in his ears of former head coach Mike McCarthy, and Green Bay GM Ted Thompson. McCarthy and Thompson both made the collective decision of letting Favre go, and forcing him into a year of solitary confinement wearing a New York Jet uniform. Surely every pass that left Favre's hand was meant to show he still had plenty left in the gas tank.

Favre refused to let anyone think that he was intentionally trying to enact revenge on his former team. "Tonight is not about revenge" became as standard of an answer as no comment, and about as believable as saying Adria Peterson isn't one of the greatest running backs in the game. Favre and the Vikings proved to be a formidable Super Bowl threat moving to 4-0 on the season, meanwhile the Packers fell to 2-2 and have an up hill climb just to make the playoffs.
