Faye Dunaway, Others to Join 'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 Lineup?

Actress Faye Dunaway will appear as a celebrity contestant in the "Dancing with the Stars" 2011 lineup when the hit reality show premieres March 21 on ABC, according to a Rumor Fix report.

Dunaway, 70, earned a Best Actress Oscar for her role in the 1976 movie "Network," and has appeared in a large number of other films, including 1981's "Mommie Dearest" and 2011's "Master Class."

Likely "Dancing with the Stars" 2011's most senior member, Dunaway follows in the footsteps of several decidedly unique contestants. On the arm of partner Corky Ballas, actress Cloris Leachman bumbled and sassed her way to a respectable seventh place finish during "DWTS" season 7. Also paired with Ballas, "Brady Bunch" mom Florence Henderson, then 76, strutted her stuff during the Fall 2010 edition, finishing in eighth place behind eventual winner Jennifer Grey. Season 10 featured astronaut Buzz Aldrin, then 80, who made it through just two episodes before finding himself and partner Ashly Costa on the inglorious chopping block.

Although older female contestants are often paired with the elder Ballas (Corky's son Mark also participates as a professional dancer), it's by no means a guaranteed scenario. Other promising candidates for partnership include Jonathan Roberts and Tony Dovolani. Roberts was most recently paired with singer Macy Gray during season 9, while Dovolani appeared last Fall on the arm of the surprisingly talented reality star Audrina Patridge.

Although the "DWTS" cast members won't be formally revealed until February 28 during "The Bachelor," a number of names -- in addition to Faye Dunaway's -- have run through the rumor mill in recent days. Multiple reports name controversial politician Christine O'Donnell as a possible contestant, while fan site Pure DWTS suggests that Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin and designer Vera Wang may also participate.
