Story : The story isn't all that great, but that can't be too big of a fault. The meat of any first person shooter is the game play. Still though, the game shows decent effort with giving you a reason to do any of the things you do. Most of the characters and plot in this game quite generic and basic though. This can be a good thing, however. If you're not looking for a game that really makes you think and analyze a story, this is a good one for you.
Graphics : The graphics in this game got a very significant boost over the first fear game. Everything is detailed and is designed very well. The special effects especially are delight to see. The best part? Watching the special effects unfold in slow motion. A real treat to watch and highly recommended. Everything is drawn well, animated better, and has tons of detail. Great game, visually.
Sound : Another really solid outing here. There isn't anything to complain about, which is good. Everything is above average here. The music doesn't come in a big variety but is still quite good. The sound effects all fit and are appropriate. The voice acting is decent enough, but I think it could be just slightly better.
Game play : The game plays exactly like any other first person shooter and more appropriately, plays exactly like the first F.E.A.R. game. This can be both good and bad. Those looking for a change of pace or for a really unique kind of first person shoot will probably want to look elsewhere. There's a bullet time button which is absolutely essential to the game. It's too difficult without it and too easy with it. The difficulty is entire in your hands, basically. There's no middle ground here which is unfortunate. Slow motion mode is the cornerstone of this game, though. If you don't want to use it, the game will be far less enjoyable. The length of the game is actually quite good, not too short and not too long. The enemy intelligence is very smart, and like I said if you don't use the slow motion mode there's a good chance they will kill you very very fast. There's a basic selection of weapons here but there's nothing that will stay with you or be all that memorable in the long run. The game can be quite scary visually sometimes, so the game deserves bonus points for that much.
Re playability : The game is quite re playable if you enjoy first person shooters a lot, but once again there really isn't anything new to engage or grab you either.
Overall : 7/10. Not a truly outstanding game, but still a very good one.
