Fear

Janis I. Monroe
All is going okay
Until one day
You're completely bound by chains
The cold, hard steel rubbing against your flesh
Tightly encased, nothing can move you
You're turning a frosty, dark shade of blue
As fear has taken you prisoner
And tossed you inside a thriller

Your screams for mercy go unheard
As this situation seems so absurd
The thick darkness of abyss closes in
Is this all in your head?

Fear is real
Holding you inside the twilight of despair
It's as cruel as a starving predator
It doesn't care

Face your fear
If you dare
Your cell of chains will break
Then you can escape
Fear disappears like magic
And daylight fills the air

Now you are free
But care you must heed
As fear is reborn
And knocking at your door
