Traveling is a hobby of mine. I travel at least three times a year for pleasure a four times a year for business. I took my first plane trip when I was seven to California to visit family and go to Disneyland. I love to fly; however, I am also a bit fearful of flying because I get motion sickness from time to time. Therefore, I needed to find some ways to get over my fear of flying. Rest assured that I am now a jetsetter because I have conquered my fear of flying. In fact, I have 5 tips to get over a fear of flying. So, Please sit back and enjoy these 5 fearless flying tips.

1. Take something to read on the plane: In order to get over a fear of flying it is helpful to be distracted in flight. I suggust that reading will be a welcome distraction when flying for a few hours or for a whole day. Last time I flew to Minnesota, I took Three Junes and The Lovely Bones for the flight. If you are jetsetting to Australia, then I suggest reading In a Sunburned Country. Thinking about your destination throgh reading will distract you from a fear of flying.

2. Drink a bit of alcohol while flying or before boarding the plane: Relax, I am not suggesting that you get plastered before flying to get over the fear of flying. However, a drink might relax you when flying. My grandmother has drank a bit of red wine on the plane and I have drank some Bloody Mary mix to relax on the plane.

3. Sleep on the plane: I often sleep on the plane to distract me from flying. Dreaming of nice things such as sheep and all the things I will do when I reach my destination reduces my fear of flying.

4. Talk to someone: If you like to talk to your seat partner or partners on the plane then, you will not think about a fear of flying. You will be concentrating on your conversation with your plane buddies.

5. Take some anti-nausea medication: My fear of flying is helped my motion sickness. Therefore, I need to take some anti-nausea medication to get over my fear of flying. I recommend using Dramamine.

The fear of flying is a real fear but if you like to fly, then, you need to get over a fear of flying. Therefore, I hope you get on board with my 5 tips to get over a fear of flying.
