Fear: I Thought I Knew

Catdog
Distance to make the heart grow fonder

Miles apart every day stretches longer

Memories I keep breathing, I will survive

Every moment thoughts of you still thrive

Without you by my side every endless night

Anticipation of when again we shall unite

Distance between us awaiting that one day

Together once again, my heart does pray

Excitement we share knowing it is near

And then we discuss our worst fear

Communication between us, so great

Tonight possibly, brings our fate

Something more powerful than each alone

Obstacles to come unpredictable, unknown

But! I cry! No longer are we each our own

Together, we shall prevail upon the throne

I beg of you this night, darling, please

Do not give up yet on us per this disease

For all the times I sat silenced, overcome with fear

Paralyzed too long, I wish I had told you sooner dear

Wasn't the fear we spoke tonight before bed

Instead were the words unspoken, in my head

Telling myself it were a dream all this time

Never saying what I felt, the only real crime

Tonight, I am scared you are lost to me forever

Never once again will we be the same together

If I may partake in one final request

Don't throw it away in fear of this test

Know always shall my heart to you be true

I wish only sooner I'd said, "I love you."
