Feast (2005): They're Hungry. You're Dinner!

I spent a lot of time watching the drama unfold week after week in the making of Feast on Project green light and had something invested in it. To be honest I didn't expect very much but I did want to see the final product. I can't speak for everyone but if it had gotten a theatrical release I know two people who would have bought tickets to see Feast.

Overall I thought the acting was decent. I didn't recognize any of the actors except for Balthazar Getty and I couldn't remember anything I had seen him in. Again if it hadn't have been rushed I think even the acting could have been improved on even with the cast that they have. Although with more money they might have been able to get more recognizable faces. Which I think might have made feast a big success or at least big enough to get a theatrical release

As for the special effects the gore factor is high. Gary J. Tunnicliffe did a great job on the creature effects and managed to come up with something that I haven't really seen before and I have seen a lot. To me the creatures are the best part of the movie it's unfortunate that we didn't get to see more of them. The only time you really get to see them good is in the end. Although it does give us that classic feeling where the monsters are not revealed until the end. The best part of this movie is that there is no CGI which is the way I like it. So many other horror movies today rely too heavily on CGI.

I was so disappointed when it seemed they were not going to release Feast. Like I said earlier I spent a lot of time watching the making of Feast on Project green light and felt like I had something invested in it. To be honest I didn't expect very much considering Miramax didn't seem to want to back the film very much but I did want to see the final product. After watching it I can't say that I was really impressed. Although I can say it was good enough to where I would watch a sequel if it was made. I did enjoy it and find it entertaining enough that I will probably add it to my library soon. For that reason I'll give it 3/5 stars.

Throughout the movie, only one character had a name, Cody, the little boy. One time though, Grandma said something to "Bozo" and he replied, "Not now, Flo." This was the only time any character other than the little boy was called by their name.
