Febreze Extra Strength Review

When you own pets, it's important to have products around that will help take care of any smells. It's also nice to have a product that will freshen your home. That's why I turn to Febreze products. While I normally get the Gain Apple Mango Tango scented Febreze, I recently had to purchase the extra strength variety because it was all that was available. I have to admit that I had fun seeing just how powerful this stuff was. Would Febreze Extra Strength be able to handle the worst smells?

One of the first ways I used Febreze Extra Strength was to freshen my bedding. Granted this wasn't a stinky job, but I do like to lay down each night and smell fresh sheets. I sprayed the freshener early in the day and my bedding still smelled good that evening. The next job was a bit tougher. My dog had gotten sick on my couch and though I had cleaned the area, it still had a stench. My boyfriend sprayed the area heavily before bed and the Febreze took care of the smell. Lastly, I decided to try the freshener on my wrist brace. I have carpal tunnel and wear a brace each night. Unfortunately, the brace can get quite stinky. I decided to try the Febreze on the brace as washing the brace seems to weaken the Velcro closures. I would love to say that the spray took care of the problem, but even after a healthy amount of sprays, it still stank. If I could remember to use it every morning, it might help, but waiting until it needs to be washed only leaves the brace smelling like Febreze and sweat.

I think I put this freshener through quite a few challenges and for the most part I'm quite pleased. I'm not sure that it works any better than other varieties of Febreze, but the smell is pleasant. A large bottle costs around $5 and the time that it lasts depends on what type of odors and the size of the areas you're trying to freshen. I give Febreze Extra Strength 4 out of 5 stars. It wasn't able to handle the toughest odors, but it still did a great job with everyday odors.

The only stuff I find that works at all for pet smells is the stuff you buy in the pet stores that breaks down the components of urine- don't know about dog puke though.
