Scent:
Febreze comes in many scents, including my favorites Apple Spice & Delight, Meadows & Rain, and Spring & Renewal. The scents are fresh and very clean smelling but do not last very long, and do not eliminate strong odors.
Citrus magic comes in several citrus blends-- Lemon, Orange, or Tropical Citrus Blend. If you don't like the scent of oranges or lemons, you won't like this product. If you do like the scent of citrus, you will love this product.
Citrus Magic contains real citrus oils. The oils are concentrated, and so a little goes a long way. Just a few sprays will freshen up a large area. The scent lasts a long time and eliminates most tough odors.
Packaging:
Both Febreze and Citrus Magic come in recyclable containers. Citrus Magic, however, is a concentrated non-aerosol and comes in 3.5 fl oz bottles, as well as 7 oz bottles. The smaller bottle of Citrus Magic lasts just as long as the Febreze larger containers.
The nozzles on Febreze containers tend to clog much more easily than the spray nozzles on Citrus Magic containers.
Other considerations:
Febreze can be used around most surfaces. Citrus Magic however has a precautionary statement on the bottle warning consumers not to spray the product on varnished or plastic surfaces. Citrus oil is powerful stuff and can eat through varnish and some plastics. It is recommended that you spray this product high in the air. One spray is usually all it takes.
My preference:
Citrus Magic costs a bit more than some odor eliminators, but it is worth it. The scent of natural citrus oil is unbeatable as an odor eliminator. The product lasts a long time because the formula is concentrated. The natural fragrance beats the artificial fragrances found in other odor eliminators such as Febreze.
I do like some of the Febreze scents, and I will probably continue to buy both brands. But, if I had to choose just one, I would choose Citrus Magic. It is a more powerful odor eliminator. You just can't beat the power and fresh scent of orange. For tough odors, or if you simply want to fill your home with the scent of fresh orange, I recommend Citrus Magic.

Post a CommentI've used Citrus Magic for years and love it. It's also awesome for removing some pesky sticky left from labels
I use them both but think that Citrus Magic is the better odor eliminator (especially smoke odors)
I and the wife are Febreze addicts...lol. I've never used Citrus Magic. We'll have to give it a try. Thanks Korey!
